Is Qurbani Included in Your Hajj Package? How to Check Before Paying

By Farazm Travel · Updated 12 August 2026 · 4 min read

Of all the lines in a Hajj brochure, this is the one most often missing — and the one that surprises pilgrims in Makkah: is the Qurbani included in your package price? It takes thirty seconds to check and can save you an awkward, unbudgeted expense in the middle of the Hajj days. Here is what the Qurbani is, why some packages exclude it, and exactly how to verify before you pay a deposit.

What the Qurbani (Hadi) is in Hajj

Pilgrims performing Hajj at-Tamattu‘ or al-Qiran — which covers the great majority of international pilgrims — are required to offer a sacrificial animal, the Hadi, during the days of sacrifice (from the 10th of Zil Hajj, after the stoning, before shaving/trimming). In practice this is arranged through Saudi Arabia’s official sacrifice channels; the meat is distributed to those in need. It is a required cost of the Hajj itself for these pilgrims — not an optional extra.

This Hadi is also separate from any Eid-ul-Adha qurbani your family may arrange back home; many pilgrims do both.

Why some packages don’t include it

There is no scandal here — just a market convention worth knowing. Premium and mid-tier packages usually build the Qurbani into the price. Value and economy packages, especially Maktab C-category programmes, very often exclude it to publish the lowest possible headline number. Neither approach is wrong — what’s wrong is not telling you.

In our own 2027 range, the line is drawn openly: Qurbani is included in the Budget, Bronze, Executive and Platinum tiers, and NOT included in the Value tier — and the Value package pages say so in plain text, next to the price. That exclusion is part of how a SAR 23,000 Hajj is possible; you should choose it knowingly and budget accordingly.

How to check any operator’s package in 30 seconds

  1. Search the brochure for the word “Qurbani” (or “Hadi”/“sacrifice”). If it appears under Included — done. If it appears under Excluded — also done, and now you can budget.
  2. If it appears nowhere, treat it as excluded until proven otherwise — and ask in writing: “Is the cost of Qurbani (Hadi) included in this package price — yes or no?” A one-word answer belongs in your email or WhatsApp thread before any deposit.
  3. If excluded, ask how it will be arranged — through the operator at a stated price, or by you via the official coupon channels — so nothing is improvised on the 10th of Zil Hajj.

The pattern to watch across the market

The Qurbani line tends to travel with the Maktab category: the same fine print that says “C-category, zone assigned by the Ministry” is where a Qurbani exclusion usually hides. When you compare two packages that look SAR 2,000 apart, check both lines — part of that gap may simply be a cost moved off the page rather than removed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I arrange the Qurbani myself instead of through the package?
Yes — Saudi Arabia operates official sacrifice coupon channels for pilgrims. If your package excludes Qurbani, arranging it through the official channel is straightforward; just decide the route before the Hajj days, not during them.

When is the Qurbani performed?
During the days of sacrifice, beginning the 10th of Zil Hajj — in the rite sequence after the Jamarat stoning and before shaving or trimming the hair.

Does every pilgrim need one?
Pilgrims performing Tamattu‘ or Qiran do; pilgrims performing Ifrad generally do not. Most international package pilgrims perform Tamattu‘ — if unsure, ask your operator which form your programme follows.

Which Farazm packages include it?
Budget, Bronze, Executive and Platinum: included. Value (Maktab C): not included, stated plainly on the package page. Compare all seventeen on the Hajj 2027 page — the comparison table has a Qurbani row precisely so nobody has to hunt for this.

Unsure what your quoted package really covers? Send us the brochure on WhatsApp — we’ll tell you honestly what’s in it, even if it isn’t ours.
Tentative packages — subject to Ministry approval and quota allocation, Government of Pakistan.
